It comprises three densely wooded uninhabited islands and a few submergible satellite islands, which lies on the banks of the tributaries of Kabini River in Wayanad.

One gets to see herds of elephants, guars, deer, monkeys, tigers, leopards, bears and many species of reptiles, fishes, butterflies and birds including vultures.

Part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, the park is backed by the Brahamagiri Mountains and filled with sandalwood and teak trees. Nearby, the Irupu Falls cascade down tree-lined rocks.

The largest earthen dam in India and the second largest in Asia and a starting point for hikes into the surrounding mountains. It is an important tourist attraction.

Chethalayam Falls is one of the most stunning formations in Kerala. What makes this waterfall so interesting is the lush greenery that is sprawling around the streams. The water stream dries during the months of summer and acts as a perfect field for the trekkers, hikers and mountain climbers.

Thirunelli Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu on the side of Brahmagiri hill in Kerala, near the border with Karnataka state. The temple is at an altitude of about 900m in north Wayanad in a valley surrounded by mountains and beautiful forests.

Iruppu falls is a picturesque waterfall cascading along the Brahmagiri Mountain Range in the border of Wayanad. Also known as the Lakshmana Tirtha Falls, which is a name derived from the tributary of Cauvery River of the same name of which these falls are a part of. People come here to enjoy the blissful vicinity of nature, the grandeur of the falls and for also for its religious significance.

A tiny hamlet which is hidden in the lofty rims of Wayanad. The best part of Kurumbalakotta is the spiritually enhancing walk to the abode which is worth taking as the view from up above the mountain is awe-struck. Kurumbalkotta has a history to trace back, which says that a Kota or fort belonging to a Kurumba caretaker was located there on the hill to spy on the enemies or spot movement from up above. But there are no traces of fort found in the nearby vicinity.

Soochipara Falls also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is a three-tiered waterfall in Vellarimala, Wayanad, India. It is surrounded by deciduous, evergreen and montane forests. Locally referred to as Soochipara (``Soochi`` meaning ``Needle`` and ``Para`` meaning ``Rock``), the 15-20 minute drive from Meppadi to Sentinel Rock Waterfalls has views of a number of Wayanad's tea estates. The Sentinel Rock Waterfalls is 200 metres (656 feet) and offers a cliff face that is used for rock climbing.

Karapuzha Dam located in the Wayanad district of Kerala, is one of the biggest earth dams in India. Karapuzha Dam is located in the greenish and natural regions of Wayanad, Kerala on the Karapuzha River, a tributary of the Kabini River. Construction on the dam began in 1977 and it was complete in 2004.

Edakkal caves are famous for its pictorial paintings (cave paintings), which are considered to be of 6000 B C. These caves are located 1,200 m above the sea level on Ambukutty Mala. The name ‘Edakkal’ literally means ‘a stone in between’. Here you can see a cave formed by a heavy boulder straddling a fissure in the rock.
